I like to see the vacant land in Pines and Kairaki beach utilised for walking tracks for all to use eg, horses, dogs people, bikes etc. It needs to be kept as natural as possible with lots of native plantings.

I think it should be turned back to farm land, with access along the river banks retained.
There are only so many parks and reserves that the community can maintain.

Transfer the present Kaiapoi golf club there thus freeing freeing up the clubs more stable land for more solid structures.

The Commercial Interests of Kaiapoi need to be protected and enhanced. Currently parking is a real concern for people within the town, & it is vital for the town to have people wanting to visit, have somewhere safe and clear to park in, whilst they enjoy Kaiapoi.
The areas adjacent to the red zones & closest to the river could be turned into well sign posted public car parking. This will allow access to the town & also somewhere for people that are exploring the red zones to park as well.

A park in the old Courtenay Drive area as it is beside a lake already, more planting of trees / shrubs - Park.

tennis courts, basketball, facilities, skatepark, bmx track, outdoor adventure area, areas for rollerskating etc.
I wouldn't mind it turned into farm land as long as it's not cows. The farm that boarders Courtenay drive brings the smell of cows when the easterly blows. Horses would keep the grass down but vegetation would have to be protected. Horses would be good as long as horse droppings were picked up otherwise the grass dies. Fencing would have to be good. Sheep would be fine but would have to be looked after. Water would be an issue.
