Hearings

Following on from the 'Let's Plan' public consultation from 5 February to 4 March 2016, public hearings were held from 6 to 8 April 2016 in the Ruataniwha Kaiapoi Civic Centre. The hearing was an opportunity for submitters to speak to their written comment.

Following the conclusion of the public hearings on 8 April 2016 the Hearing Panel adjourned for further information.

The Hearing Panel issued their report and recommendations on 28 June 2016.

Hearing Panel report and recommendations

The Council considered and approved the Hearing Panel's report and recommendations at the Council meeting on 5 July 2016.

Following the Council's decision, the Draft Waimakariri Residential Red Zone Recovery Plan is being prepared. This plan will be considered by the Council for approval in late July 2016, and then presented to the Minister for Greater Christchurch Regeneration in August 2016.

The Minister will be seeking further written comment on the Draft Waimakariri Residential Red Zone Recovery Plan.

Hearing Panel minutes and responses

At the conclusion of the public hearings on Friday 8th April, the Hearing Panel adjourned the hearings and have issued this Minute requesting information from the Crown and Council. The Crown and Council responded to this minute on Friday 22 April.
